The childhood cancer clinical study group named as “Asian Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Group (APHOG)” is the first children’s cancer clinical study group in Asia that intimately collaborates with SIOP Asia. It was founded in April, 2012, when the Asian continental congress of the International Society of Paediatirc Oncology (SIOP Asia) was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
APHOG is a children’s cancer clinical study group in Asia that intimately collaborates with SIOP Asia, an academic society. It conducts the clinical studies to develop new drugs, the discovery of novel candidate drugs, promotion of the childhood cancer registry and diagnosis, solution of the genetic problems of childhood cancers, support for the better survivorship, construction of the ICT-based children’s cancer global network system, and prevention of the late effects in Asia in order to achieve the goal of WHO Global Initiative for Childhood Cancer in Asia.
